Lung cancer is a growing problem around all the world and in Cambodia .
Who has to come for Lung cancer screening? These are people from risk groups:
smokers: tobacco, marijuana etc.,
people between 50 and 80 y.o., who quit smoking in the past 15 years,
secondhand-smokers (ex., non-smoking wives of smokers),
people after exposure to chemicals (at work, living place): formaldehyde, asbestos, silica, chromium, arsenic, nickel compounds, PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), vinyl chloride, wood dust,
people after exposure to high-energy radiation (example, after radiation therapy of Hodgkin's lymphoma),
people with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). Asthma and tuberculosis appear to be risk factors too. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis may increase the risk of lung cancer by up to 2,
people with some infectious diseases: HIV, human papillomavirus (HPV),
people, having 1st- and 2d-degree relatives with lung cancer,
people, who are for a long time on ACE inhibitors (ramipril, lisinopril, coversyl),
people with elevated platelet count.
Kindly note, that there some occupations, associated with an increased lung risk include: truck driving , sandblasting, metal working , printing , ceramic making, uranium mining , glass manufacturing
